2009 Classroom Connections
During the 2009 tour, Windstream is launching the Classroom Connections program, which will give eight schools in Windstream’s service area the chance to receive $200,000 ($25,000 each) for new computer labs or associated technology. Windstream also donated $200,000 in 2008 to community organizations.
All public and public charter schools in Windstream’s 16-state service area were encouraged to apply for the Classroom Connections donation. Schools were required to apply online and submit a video demonstrating need for the donation. Applications were reviewed by a panel of judges including Windstream executives and three State Teachers of the Year. The winners were announced on Tuesday, April 7.
